Padmasambhava and his student Namkhe Nyinpo mediated here in the 7th Century, but the present site was founded in 1488 by Pema Lingpa - Lycoperdon sp. seen in Motithang. Maybe L. spadiceum, since it is yellow, but that is just a guess.
